Review: MAC Paint Pot (+swatches)

PRICE
First of all, I need to say that MAC is much more expensive here in Europe than in the States. Over here, one of these Paint Pots costs 23€, whereas they cost 20$ (14€50) in the States. It contains 5g, which equals 0.17 oz.

THE PRODUCT
The packaging of the creme eyeshadow is a typical and classic MAC. It is made of glass and has a screw cap, which is going to prevent the product from drying out. The consistency of the eyeshadow is very creamy and smooth. It is not really soft but it melts with the warmth of your fingers. Nevertheless, you can of course apply it with a brush. They come in 12 different colours (24 in the US).

APPLICATION AND USE
It spreads easily on your lid, but you need to be fairly quick, as it sets quite fast. Once set, it feels like you have nothing on your lid. I tend to use it as a base for my pressed eyeshadows. It keeps the dark colours from creasing and holds them in place. Since it comes in different colours, you can adjust your base on the rest of your eye makeup, which is why I have 4 of them.
I work it into my skin with my ring finger and apply my pressed eyeshadows over it. It makes the colours pop and keeps your makeup in place forever!

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Sometimes when I come home from a long night out, I just go to bed without removing my makeup. And YES I do know I should always do it, but we all have those lazy moments, don't we? Howsoever, my eye makeup is perfect every single time I wake up, because the MAC Paint Pot held it in place.

FINAL WORD
In conclusion, this is the best eyeshadow base I've ever had! If you don't want to buy different colours, because they are a little pricey, then I recommend you buying the Soft Ochre one (neutral, matte beige).
It has become a basic in my makeup collection, which I can't imagine my life without. If you have oily eyelids, or just want to make sure your eye makeup holds, then this is a Must Have.

Review: Bioderma Sensibio H2O

PRICE
When i first saw the price of this micellar solution, i found it quite expensive. However, considering the fact that it contains 500ml, i found 17€ was ok. It actually took me 6 months to empty my first bottle, which I think is quite a long time.

THE PRODUCT
Bioderma is a french, dermatoligical brand for all kinds of facial skin care. The poduct claims to remove makeup (face & eyes), while cleansing and soothing sensitive skin. It has a non-rinse and fragrance-free formula. Nevertheless, it has a light smell, which i guess comes from the ingredients. At the beginning, i found this smell a little unpleasant, but i think you get used to it fairly quickly.

USE
At first, I used it to remove my entire makeup, which I don't do anymore because it doesn't get off the eye makeup. I found it really hard to get all the mascara off my lashes, even though it was not a waterproof one. Furthermore, it burned in my eyes. Since then, i only use it to remove my foundation, bronzer, highlighter, ... I also sometimes use it to get the oil off my skin during the day, or after i removed my eye makeup with an oil-based product.

AFTER THE USE
I love to use the product, because it is really refreshing. It doesn't give your skin an oily film at all, but leaves a conditioned feeling. Whenever I use it, I feel like it really cleanses not only the surface of my skin, but also my pores.

FINAL WORD
On the whole, i think it's a deep clean for your skin, which can unfortunately not be used on your eye makeup. However, i think it's really worth buying it for the rest of your face, as it perfectly gets off your foundation and every other kind of dirt from your skin. It doesn't dry out your skin at all, which is why it is perfect for a daily use.
I really recommend this product for people with difficult skin, as it really is a deep-clean-product. Nonetheless, it is also perfectly suitable for people with normal skin, like me. I've been testing the product for half a year and i already ordered a second bottle of it.

How do you like it? How did it work on your skin?

Review: Soleil Tan De Chanel ☼

PRICE
First of all, this CHANEL 'bronzing makeup base' is more on the pricey side since you pay about 40€ for 30g (1 oz.).

FIRST IMPRESSION
When i saw the packaging, I immediately fell in love. It's simple, sleek and just looks luxurious. I really love the screw cap because it's going to prevent the product from drying out. The 'Made In France'-product has a really light and clean smell, almost like a moisturizer. On the other hand, it only exists in one shade, which looks kinda orangey. Furthermore, it has really fine glitter to it. In addition, i first found there was a really small amount of product in the pot.

THE PRODUCT
The product has a creamy, thick texture. It is not really soft, so that you probably won't end up with too much product on your brush. This product will last you really long because a little goes a long way. It blends really nicely into the skin and feels really soft once applied. Besides, it leaves a healthy glowing and natural looking finish, which doesn't look greasy or shiny at all. It's not shimmery either, your skin will just appear nice and sunkissed.

FIRST APPLICATION
It first took me some time to figure which brush to use. At the moment, a small duo fibre brush works best for me (I use the 130 short duo fibre brush from MAC).
I use it as a base for my bronzer/contour. I apply a small amount, work it into my skin and apply some pressed bronzing powder over it. Nevertheless, i only do this routine in summer because my skin needs to be tanned (otherwise the colour of the product is a little too dark/orangey).

FINAL WORD
This bronzing base from CHANEL is a treat. It's pricey but it's totally worth it in my opinion. The only disadvantage is that I can only use it in summer. I'm a typical central european type of girl, but if you're a darker skin type, this bronzer will be perfect all year long.
I personally think that it's even worth buying only for summer, since I don't need a base in winter. In summer, I use it every day to prevent my bronzer from sweating off my face. It really holds my bronzer in place and easily makes it last an 8-hour-working day.
I'm really in love with the product and will certainly use it during the following summers as well.

What do you think about the 'Soleil Tan De Chanel'? Is it worth the money?
