Review: MAC Paint Pot (+swatches)

PRICE
First of all, I need to say that MAC is much more expensive here in Europe than in the States. Over here, one of these Paint Pots costs 23€, whereas they cost 20$ (14€50) in the States. It contains 5g, which equals 0.17 oz.

THE PRODUCT
The packaging of the creme eyeshadow is a typical and classic MAC. It is made of glass and has a screw cap, which is going to prevent the product from drying out. The consistency of the eyeshadow is very creamy and smooth. It is not really soft but it melts with the warmth of your fingers. Nevertheless, you can of course apply it with a brush. They come in 12 different colours (24 in the US).

APPLICATION AND USE
It spreads easily on your lid, but you need to be fairly quick, as it sets quite fast. Once set, it feels like you have nothing on your lid. I tend to use it as a base for my pressed eyeshadows. It keeps the dark colours from creasing and holds them in place. Since it comes in different colours, you can adjust your base on the rest of your eye makeup, which is why I have 4 of them.
I work it into my skin with my ring finger and apply my pressed eyeshadows over it. It makes the colours pop and keeps your makeup in place forever!

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Sometimes when I come home from a long night out, I just go to bed without removing my makeup. And YES I do know I should always do it, but we all have those lazy moments, don't we? Howsoever, my eye makeup is perfect every single time I wake up, because the MAC Paint Pot held it in place.

FINAL WORD
In conclusion, this is the best eyeshadow base I've ever had! If you don't want to buy different colours, because they are a little pricey, then I recommend you buying the Soft Ochre one (neutral, matte beige).
It has become a basic in my makeup collection, which I can't imagine my life without. If you have oily eyelids, or just want to make sure your eye makeup holds, then this is a Must Have.
